The organisation have secured mentorship partnership with Birmingham City University. Here, our qualified and experienced lecturers help and support the trainee-teachers from the university in completing their teaching postgraduate certificate or diploma on the education in the community, 'skills for life' programme.

Skills for Life

As a young organisation, with limited resources. CBCed has managed to secure the use of the carnegie lecture theatre - rent free, from The Sandwell Library Services, so as to provide a learning venue for our ‘Education in the Community Skills for Life Programmes’. Here, courses are flexible, which means greater community involvement and are 'free'. We run, Literacy, Numeracy and ESOL accredited programmes. Many of the participants are local to the area and we are now in the process of expanding the 'skills for life' programme into other libraries other in Sandwell and in Birmingham.
