The Central Birmingham College Education and Training Back to Work Project have been introduced in reaction to the demand of the local unemployed community. The aims of the project are to work with a number of local agencies in the drive to get individuals into work.

 

This project is a set of learning programmes designed to equip learners with, and at the same time, develop the basic skills requirement for entry into employment. These programmes include the Certificate in Employability Skills, Certificate in Adult Basic Skills (Literacy, Numeracy, ICT) and Certificate in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).

The Employability Skills programme is suitable for a wide variety of learners, including:

On this programmer the learners will be involved in a variety of skills development actvities which includes, self-assesments, CV writing, job application skills, job search skills and interview skills. Participants will also be encouraged to actively look and secure work placements, to encourage greater employment opportunities.

 

WHO WILL THE PROJECT HELP: Long-term unemployed and young people into Employment

 

Number of learners: The estimated numbers learners for this programme is approximately  100.  However, we believe the figures to increase working in partnership with other community partners, schools, career services and jobcentreplus etc.
