NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding and Prevention of MRSA

Aims

The qualification aims to:

- increase awareness of MRSA and the affect on individuals’ lives

- encourage individuals to use correct hand washing techniques

- ensure individuals understand the importance of following policies and    procedures set within their workplace

Target Group

This qualification is for anyone working in a healthcare environment who wants to increase their knowledge and understanding of MRSA and how their work practices can contribute to controlling and preventing the spread of infection.

Entry Guidance

Learners wishing to undertake this qualification must have an Infection Control qualification or have completed infection control training to ensure that they have the required broader knowledge and understanding of infection prevention and control that underpins this qualification.

The Level 2 Certificate in Understanding and Prevention of MRSA aims to provide progression towards:

- Level 2 and 3 NVQs in Health and Social Care

- Level 2 NVQ in Cleaning

- NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Safe Handling of Medicines
