Central Birmingham College Education and Training Back- to- Work Course
Our Back to Work or Employability Skills course is a suite of OCR accredited qualifications which allows the learners to develop a range of skills and attributes to enter and progress in employment. These vocationally-related qualifications provide valuable opportunities for individuals to develop skills and gain underpinning knowledge and understanding which will support entry into, and progress within, employment.
Course Objectives
The Back-to-Work or Employability Skills programme has been developed to encourage learners to enter and progress in employment. It is aimed at all age groups, including those who have never previously been in employment, or those who are returning to employment after a break. It gives candidates who may feel they lack the confidence to enter the workplace an opportunity to develop their skills in a number of different areas (for example in preparation and learning from interviews, and learning from a work placement). The skills that learners develop through the course (for instance, presenting personal information effectively and financial capability) will help them in everyday life as well as helping them to prepare and succeed in employment.
This course specifically aims to:
ThE course has three levels: Entry Level 3, Level 1 and level 2. There are eight units at Entry Level 3, and five units each at Level 1 and Level 2. Each unit has a credit value of 3. The full award comprises five units – 15 credits.
Entry Requirements:
There are no entry restrictions for the Back to Work/Employability Skills Course.
